Getting the Offer.
Sometimes, the most painstakingly long portion of the job interview process (especially for recruiters) can be getting the offer approved. This part is tough for obvious reasons. You have already knocked out the interview so why can’t it just be BAM here is your offer!! Well I wish it was so easy. But agencies, and the majority of the time this happens with the larger ones, have all kinds of approvals and loops to job through before an offer materializes. I have one client who is waiting on approval for an offer for a candidate that went into interview in early September. They liked her then but the approval procedure for making an offer is several weeks long. Who wins in this? That’s what I want to know. This is a bitter reality of the job searching process that may not come to mind when you first start looking. But remember, even if getting the offer is as slow a process as Sid Bream scoring from first in the 1991 NLCS, once he finally gets there, or you get your offer, it’s a fantastic feeling.
