Holiday Season

Although it is tempting to put everything off until the new year, December is actually a very active recruiting month.  A common misconception is that agency’s HR departments kind of turn it in going into the home stretch of the calender year.  A lot of people tend to get lazy about looking for jobs and sending out resumes because they figure it will all crank back up in January.  This is FAR from the truth.   Many of the bigger agencies have hiring budgets set out for the year.  If January rolls around and those budgets are not used up, in most cases, they are absorbed into another par of the company that maybe needs a little jump in cash flow to help the books.  So, December is actually an excellent time to look for that new position.  Plus, how easy is it to take random days off during the holiday season to interview?  It’s so easy as everybody else is making plans for their Florida/Colorado trips to see family and friends.  So you ask does all hiring slow down at the end of the year?  Absolutely not.
