Leveraging Emotion Intelligence

In the past, emotion was negatively considered or not considered at all when it came to describing the different aspects of management and leadership. This is not longer the case since a new agenda called Emotional Dynamism has made its mark on the self-assessment of many leaders and managers due to new discoveries in psychological research. Emotional Dynamism describes how someone in a leadership role can leverage the power of emotions. A successful leader will not only have a high IQ, but must also possess a higher level of EI – emotional intelligence.

Why?

Studies that evaluate leadership performance based on inspiration, motivation and vision show that a higher EI can be the basis for a more successful leader – one that employees want to follow.

Emotional range, Emotional intensity, Emotional fluidity, and Emotional integration make up the idea of Emotional Dynamism. For detailed information and a self-assessment quiz click here.

Each piece of this “mystery” can be unraveled, evaluated and applied. Are you a mentor, a boss or manager to one or more employees? Are you currently interviewing for a role which will require leadership? These ideals, understood and applied can distinguish you from other candidates. Those who can understand the concept of Emotional Dynamism will be able to leverage the power of their emotions and inspire others to achieve their own professional and personal potential which in the end contributes to the organization, company or agency for which you work.
