Resolution This…
Since NYE, I have already worked out twice and my boobs have never felt as tender as when I gave birth to my twins… or something like that. Why, because I have love handles and want to look good sans shirt. No other reason.
Now these days people will ask about your resolution(s). I find that as hollow as asking about your dreams. No offense, but they hold about as much substance as MTV’s primetime lineup; i.e. they just bought a 2nd season of Shot of Love w/Tila Tequila – and boy is she a pocket full of BLECHH!!
Here’s my perspective on a New Year: not a resolution, but a healthy perspective of reflection. What are you doing now that you do and do not want to be doing in your career? What choices have you made that led you here, for better or for worse?
I am not imploring you to act on what conclusions these questions, but always know the why as ultimately the why has been only your doing.

Maybe an example to help with my point. I give you Anamoly, the hipster agency in NY that is rethinking and reworking the whole agency/client structure. Sure, there are other agencies out there that have pushed for better work or reorganized a tad, but many are not as assertive in creating newer and more relevant business models to allow them to survive in the fickle ad world. They obviously looked around and looked back to see where the industry was and is. They DID move on it and they are getting financial high-fives all around for where they are going.
Check them out. Just a thought.
Yours in perm-disco-love, Joyce.
