Does Your Resume Measure Up?
I’m sure you’ve looked at it a hundred million times. You wrote it you know what is says.
But does it work? Is it really selling you the way it should be? Your resume is the only thing that is going to get you an interview. It’s the first thing an employer or a recruiter sees. If your resume looks like crap do you actually think someone is going to inquire upon you? Here are a couple hints that might help you get more phone calls.
2) This is especially true for anyone in the advertising industry. Whether you are a creative, in account management, media or account planning. LIST YOUR ACCOUNTS!!! We want to know what you’ve worked on. This is something that is going to make or break you in some cases.
3) Please don’t make your resume 7 pages long. Unless your like 50 and have worked at 20 different agencies and gone to multiply schools for each of your degrees, it should be just long enough to give us the basics. But don’t sell yourself short by shortening. 2 pages is a good number.
4) List the time you were with a company. Even if it’s a standard 2006-2008. If you don’t list your time frame of when you were there, how are we supposed to know if you didn’t leave each place after 5 months of working there?
